Lydia (USA) and Line Up @ Amplifier, 18th January 2012

I can never believe each opportunity until I have photo proof of it. On the 18th of January 2012, I was approved through FASTERLOUDER to take photos for USA band, Lydia, to shoot for their "Paint It Golden" Australian Tour @ Amplifier. First time shooting there, the lights were unbelievable, people were friendly and bands were awesome. Sophie Joy, TV Snow and Place of Indigo lined up to support the band.

I was so nervous before the show, I'm glad you couldn't see it on the other side of the camera, but I hope the shots were good enough. I was extremely stoked when Lydia uploaded two of my photos onto their page. I was able to take the photos 3 songs into their show, and I couldn't believe how much I didn't need to edit because the stage lights were amazing!

I have been getting unlimited support from friends and family, and it means a tonne when anyone likes a photo or even takes more than a second to look at it. My dream is not only have the opportunities to take photos of bands that I love, and create everlasting memories of them, but to be able to share an inspiration, an idea or a belief that dreaming is possible when you work hard.

Thank you so much for dropping by, whether I know you or not, I'm so grateful for it.

Northlane

Northlane was amazing on stage and such a feeling to take a photo like this to remember the night when they came to Perth on 15.12.11 :)

Moving On

It's time to move on from mistakes, and start fresh and better in the new year. Last shots on Thursday night was the best. It's a sign to move onto a better crowd :)

Chapter one has finally ended, it's now time to begin the second part to the story of live music photography. Thank you to everyone who has helped me out, and for those who haven't, I hope you wished you never got rid of someone like me.

Tonight Alive

On the 18th October 2011, I drove straight from work to YMCA HQ Leederville to see 10PAST6, Monuments, Rufio and Tonight Alive. It was the first time I decided to bring my DSLR to a concert, and I don't regret it for a moment. Remembering the moments through a snapshot is just as amazing as recording a whole concert. Unfortunately I only had the option of standing on one side, covered by some bystanders seeing as I hadn't considered myself a professional. But after taking these shots tonight, without editing, and also having Jenna McDougall (Singer of Tonight Alive) tell me that my photos looked great.

Best feedback about band photography is when their singer says this. Thank you Jenna.

Watch this space. For now, what a way to start off my dream to being a Live Music Photographer.
